Going to try it somewhere without an install, and will see if it still runs. So far both ran smoothly, but this may be just because I already have the required registry and/or dll lifes in place. I tried just straightforward using the 'package factory' tool for U3 to envelope the library of my StarUML, and then just unzipping it and running (this sounds silly.). As far as I can judge StarUML is the only Free tool that comes near to both distinguished software. I myself have been trained on 'Enterprise Architect' which is not as reach as 'Rose' but is still extremely powerful compared to opensource free tools. This means that it serves to build the network illustrations (has extensive cisco libraries), but when it comes to UML, it does not have the abilities of "parent-son" package relations, swinlines for differentiation, a proper UC and Business process modeling etc. Dia 0.97 is a fair suggestion lordmax, but as far as I know it does not support UML2.0.
